Last Saturday’s Coffee Stop had a definite Spring feel, and for those hoping for a relaxing start to the weekend…. Carol’s bell woke us all up!
In a departure from the dreary weather, the son shone on the park runners, many of whom finished off with a brew and a bacon buttie.
There were bargains to be found at the Guides Table Top Sale, and treats to be enjoyed on the cake stall.
Carol took to the podium to tell visitors about the day’s activities, and in the absence of a microphone, gained everyone’s attention ringing a rather large bell!
Rev Ian encouraged us to share in a moment of quiet contemplation for all those affected by the war in Ukraine, and other conflicts, before introducing our artist in residence, and thanking all the wonderful volunteers for their hard work.
Margit van der Zwan’s exhibition is a display of portraits, where the model’s own makeup is used instead of ordinary paint.
In case you missed it, the gallery is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am – 3pm until March 28.
Face-painting and craft proved to be the perfect combination of fun for the youngsters, and all in all, it was the perfect start to a Saturday.
